On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, Brother George Benjamin Rumley, O.S.B.’s petition to transfer his vow of stability to Saint Anselm Abbey was accepted by the monastic chapter. Brother George comes to us from Mary, Help of Christians Abbey in Belmont, North Carolina. He began a period of probation before transferring his stability in 2021. The transfer of the vow of stability is provided for in Chapter 61 of the Rule of Saint Benedict.
Brother George is a native of Ramseur, North Carolina and took vows as a Benedictine monk in 2014. He currently serves Saint Anselm College in the Office of Campus Ministry and will be ordained to the diaconate this fall.
