On Wednesday July 11 2018, the Feast of Our Holy Father Benedict and his 24th birthday, Mr. Louis Franciose was received into the novitiate and was clothed in the monastic habit. Abbot Mark gave him his religious name, Brother Basil. Brother Basil’s patron is Saint Basil the Great. He is the only saint mentioned by name in the Rule of Saint Benedict. Brother Basil graduated from Saint Anselm College in 2017 and is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah. Father Bernard Disco, O.S.B. will serve as his Novice Master.
